Take a virtual tour of the London Municipal Pool before you visit for the day or your private party.

The London Municipal Swimming Pool consists of a baby, main, racing, and training pool as well as an 11-foot diving well. The training pool is handicapped accessible with a ramp. There is also a handicapped accessible bathhouse and a concession stand that will be open during hours of operation. During the summer, at various times a number of special events for families, teens, and seniors will be held. Watch for those activities to be advertised at a later date.

BECOME A MEMBER AT THE MUNICIPAL POOL

The London Municipal Pool invites regular visiting patrons to become a pass holder at the Municipal Pool. The Municipal Pool offers single, double, and family membership for residents of London and those who reside outside the city limits.

Early Bird Benefits
Pay for a Pool Pass by May 25th and receive free guest passes for the Summer of 2007. Single, two person, and senior pass early payments will receive two (2) free guest passes. A family pass paid by May 19th will receive four (4) guest passes. Each guest pass is good for one daily visit to the pool. Guest passes will be kept by the London Parks and Recreation Department at the pool. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department for more information on purchasing a season pass to the municipal pool.

Double and Family Pass Guidelines

The London Municipal Pool offers the opportunity for families to purchase a group pass. The pass has an initial fee of $120.00 for up to five immediate family members, residing in the same home. Any additional immediate child after that will require an additional $10.00 to be added on the pass.

A double pass requires the two individuals to be immediately related and residing in the same home. This pas is a $70.00 fee for residents, and an additional $10.00 will be charged for non-residents.

All passes purchased at the Municipal Pool will be temporarily accepted until the approval of the Parks and Recreation Director.

If your pass has been denied you will be notified with a letter in the mail, included in the envelope will be a reimbursement check.

Membership Benefts

Members of the municipal Pool will get the following benefits throught the summer at the aquatic facility.

  • 50% discount rates on special event admissions
  • $10 discount on pool rentals
  • Member appreciation night outing
  • $10 discount on adult aquatic programs (water aerobics)
  • Additional adult swim hours (10am-12pm, MWF)

ALL children 8 yrs old and younger will not be admitted unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or babysitter who is 13 yrs of age or older!

MUNICIPAL POOL STAFF

The London Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting applications for facility manager (3), aquatic program coordinator (1), water safety instructor (2) lifeguard (18), admissions clerk (8), concession clerk (3), facility maintenance (4). Applications will be accepted starting on Tuesday, January 2nd, with the application deadline scheduled for Friday, March 30th.

REGISTRATION POLICY AT MUNICIPAL POOL

The London Parks and Recreation Department requires each individual to sign in when they enter the Municipal Pool. The registration paper is located at the front desk. The documentation helps managment know when an individual arrived on pool ground, if they ever arrived, and the number of patrons that visit the facility each day.

The London Parks and Recreation Director's office documents the attendance records at the Municipal Pool each year.

PUBLIC SWIM HOURS

The London Municipal Pool will hold public swim hours during seven days a week during the summer swim season (June-August) during the hours of 12:30pm-8:15pm. The closing time is subject to change due to aquatic programs scheduled to take place during evening hours.

ADULT SWIM HOURS

Adults will be invited to enjoy Adult Swim Hours throughout the summer between the hours of 10:00am-12:00pm.

Adult Swim Hours will be available to the public for a $1.00 admission fee three days a week. An additional daily fee will be charged at 12:15pm if they individual wishes to continue to exercise or relax at the swimming facility.

Adult Swim Hours will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's during during select weeks. Adult swim hours will open up in effect on Monday, June 11th.

 

PARTY AT THE POOL

A great place to have a birthday party, family reunion, or corporate outing is the London Municipal Pool. The facility is available for group outings each night of the week. Private outings are available during the times of 9am-12pm or 8pm-11pm. A charge of $65.00/hour is required to use the facility. The reservation entitles the party to use the main pool and diving well. A $50.00 reservation charge is required in order to reserve your date. The facility also offers a catering service that includes a wide range of of meals and snacks available for your guests.

AQUATIC PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

The 2007 Municipal Pool staff has not set official dates for the special events and aquatic programs. Please check back in May for official dates and times.

Swimming Lessons
The London Parks and Recreation Department will be offering the American Red Cross "Learn to Swim" Program. The Water Safety Instructor (WSI) tests each participant's swimming skills before the participant is placed in a class session. Each session consists of ten (10) days of thirty (30) minute classes. Before each session, the participant must attend a swim pre-text. The pre-test will be held at 7:30 p.m. the Sunday evening before each session. There is no registration for the pre-test, but you must attend the pre-test to register for a session of swim lessons.

After completing the pre-test, the WSI will advise participants of what time the lesson will be the next day. Participants will be placed in a level that best ensures improving and broadening of their skills. There is no age limit. The fee is $30.00 per person per session.

There will also be a Mommy/Daddy and Me swim class this summer during Session C. This class is for a parent and child up to 3 years of age. You must register for this class. The cost of this class is $30.00. This class will be held during the July session. No swim pre-test is needed for this class.

Special Events

The Municipal Pool offers family events throughout the summer. These events are hosted in the evenings from the hours of 8:00pm-11:00pm on advertised theme nights. Special Events require a $2 admission fee for those without a season pass, and a $1 fee for those holding season pass memberships.

Wednesday Kids Activities

The Municipal Pool offers activities each week for the kids on Wednesday afternoons. Activities will take place from 2:00-4:00pm for those patrons at the facility. Activities will be directed by the municipal pool staff and will include activities such as water balloon toss, pool races, water relays, and other enjoyable games.

Water Aerobics

The London Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a water aerobics program that is instructed by Debby Blake. The cost of the class is $20.00 for those who have a pool membership, and $30.00 for those who are not season pass holders.
