City of London Commissions

Civil Service Commission - 6 Year Term
The Civil Service Commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at City Council Chambers. The three member Commission is appointed be the Mayor, with Council’s approval. This board is responsible for issuing tests for entry level police officers, dispatchers, and firefighters and appealing disciplinary actions that are not handled through collective bargaining.

Planning Commission - 6 Year Term
The Planning Commission consists of the Mayor, Safety Service Director and three appointed members.  The Commission meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at City Council Chambers.  The Commission hears requests for zoning changes.  The Applications must be submitted to the Planning Commission at least thirty days in advance of the next meeting. Applications for zoning matters can be obtained at the Building and Zoning Office.

Tree Commission - 4 Year Term
Through the Tree Commission's hard wrok and dedication, the City of London is designated as a Tree City USA member. The Commision is responsible for the maintenance of all trees in the public right-of-way and the planting of new trees as necessary. Meetings are held onthe third Tuesday of every month at 5:00pm in City Council Chambers.

Cable TV Commission - 3 Year Term
The Cable TV Commission is responsible for the City’s portion of Time Warner Cable's Community Access channel and determines whether or not an item is appropriate to be placed on the channel.

Parks & Recreation Commission - 3 Year Term
The Parks and Recreation Commission is a trio of community residents that are appointed by the Mayor. The responsibility of the Commission is to set the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Parks and Recreation Department and be the voice of the local community in regards issues needing to be addressed by the City Administration. The Commission holds public meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at the Community Center.
