The city of London will be celebrating our 200th anniversary in 2011 with events throughout the year beginning with a March 3, 2011 recognition of the official beginning date of London’s beginning and then kicking off a number of festivities on memorial day through the olde fashioned Christmas with events throughout the county at various times. As planning continues everything is subject to change as committees get arrangements for activities arranged.
The Bicentennial steering committee will be meeting onSeptember 14th @ 7PM and September 25th @ 8 AM in city council chambers. Everyone is welcome to attend volunteers are needed for various committees and ideas are also needed to make this a super celebration, as this, is a city of London celebration.
The committee has gotten Christmas ornaments made with the logo and will be selling them at the old fashioned Christmas at various locations.
THERE ARE VARIOUS MEMBERS OF GRADUATING CLASSES FROM THE 50′S AND 60′S CONSIDERING A HOMECOMING GET TOGETHER DURING THE BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION JULY 1-4 IN 2011. KEEP CHECKING FOR UPDATES AS MORE INFO BECOMES AVAILABLE.

We are looking to have a community band made up of many local musicians to play at various events throughout the 2011 year, if you are interested contact the city office to alert us to your interest.

The committee hopes to have all of the local service organizations participating in the celebration.
