Employment and Volunteers SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT The City of London Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting applications for the 2007 summer on Tuesday, January 2nd. Deadline to turn an application to join the staff is Friday, March 30th. All positions are seasonal that are held mid-May until Labor Day. For more information on any of these positions please contact the Parks and Recreation Director at 740-852-4462. Listed below are the deadline dates for applications. Application Anyone interested in completing an application to be employed by the Department of Parks and Recreation is required to complete a employment application. You can download the printable application and mail or deliver the five page application to 102 1/2 South Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. You may pick up an application at the City of London administration office at 6 East Second Street or directly at the London Parks and Recreation offices located at 102 1/2 South Main Street.
Staff Age Requirements Any employee hired by the London Parks and Recreation Department must be 14 prior to Labor day to be permitted to turn in application for the upcoming season. Other age requirements may be in affect according to the American Red Cross depending on position. Recreation Program Coordinator Tennis Camp, Cheerleading Camp, Baseball/Softball Camp, Basketball Camp, Soccer Camp, Volleyball Camp, Youth Day Camp. Lifeguard Training Must be 15-years old to complete the American Red Cross certification course. Visit the ARC Lifeguard Training page for a course near you. The American Red Cross of Greater Columbus will host a lifeguard certification course at the London City Pool on memorial day weekend (Saturday, May 26th-Monday, May 28th). Cost of the course is $155, payable to the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus. To register for the class contact the London Parks and Recreation offices at 740-852-4462 or the American Red Cross at 614-253-2740 (ext. 2230) Water Safety Instructor Training Must be 16-years old to complete the American Red Cross certification course. VOLUNTEERS The City of London Parks and Recreation Department continues to search for volunteers that are available to help maintain facilities and supervise events.
